About Cookaborough for NDIS participants
Cookaborough supports NDIS participants to access ready-made meals from local food businesses.
We provide a directory of trusted businesses and make it easy to access government funding for delicious, nutritious meals. The food businesses on our platform are passionate about creating small-batch, locally produced meals, freshly prepared and delivered to your door.
To get started, simply sign up, find a participating Cook in your area, and submit your NDIS details.
If you’re Plan Managed, you’ll typically pay only 30% upfront, with the remaining amount invoiced directly to your Plan Manager.
If you’re Self Managed, you’ll pay 100% upfront and claim the eligible portion through the NDIS portal.
How to access meals through your NDIS Plan
1. Create an account
Go to https://cookaborough.com.au/ and click Log in in the top right-hand corner of the screen.
📲 If you're on a mobile device, click the ☰ icon in the top right-hand corner, then click Log in.
Enter your email address and contact details, or sign up using your Google, Facebook or Apple profile.
2. Explore your local Cooks
Enter your delivery address to browse Cooks in your area, explore their menus, and choose the ones that suit your taste and needs. Select Cooks to follow by clicking the Follow button (with the heart icon) on their homepage:
3. Enter your plan details
Click on your name in the top right of the screen, then click on My Account:
Click on NDIS:
Then click Apply for NDIS:
Next, follow the prompts to enter your plan details.
For Plan Managed participants:
Select the Cook(s) and fill in the remaining information to generate your Quote
Your Plan Manager will be contacted to approve your Quote
Once approved, you will be notified by email and will be able to place an order whilst only paying 30% upfront
For Self Managed participants:
Select the Cook(s) and fill in the remaining information
For any future order, you will receive a compliant NDIS templated invoice
You are then able to claim back 70% of the cost of your meal and delivery fee via your online NDIS Portal
